Dr. Timothy Browder Joins Department of Surgery Faculty at UCSF East Bay
Timothy D. Browder, M.D., MACM has joined the Department of Surgery as Professor and Chief of Trauma in the UCSF East Bay Surgery Program. Dr. Browder will lead and grow the Level 1 Trauma Center at Highland Hospital, and direct and mentor our general surgery faculty there.
Dr. Browder obtained his undergraduate degree from Whittier College and MD from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He also earned a Masters in Academic Medicine from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Browder completed his general surgery residency and a surgical critical care fellowship at University Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV. He has served as Trauma and Critical Care Faculty at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, the USC/LA County Hospital, and Stanford University.
Dr. Browder is an accomplished academic trauma surgeon with extensive clinical trauma experience, mostly at public service healthcare centers. He is committed to providing compassionate and exceptional care to the underserved patient population and to excellence in surgical education.
Dr. Browder is the Northern California State Vice Chair for the ACS Committee on Trauma, a Council Member for the Northern California Chapter of the ACS, and Committee Chair of the Santa Clara County Trauma Advisory Committee. His research interests include hemorrhagic shock, clinical outcomes following operative trauma, and surgical innovation, parlaying his operative trauma experience and medical innovation training to develop real world solutions for treatment of traumatic injuries. He has been awarded several military grants for medical device development and was selected for the prestigious Biodesign Faculty Fellowship at Stanford University.
